This database was created and used for a period of time at the stake level but it is an all or nothing proposition. It probably needs some work with program to get it to work with Filemaker to get it work for your unit.
A local stake of the church approached me about creating a database for keys used in the stake and units (spring 2011). The program has been developed and continues to be fine tuned over time.
The program could be used as a stand alone application. However, it is designed to be used as an Internet service accessible by any browser, so unit key-coordinators can access it anywhere or anytime. The source file and stand alone application are available for free download. The standalone application (runtime) is of value for testing it out before committing to go the Internet route. It is open source, so you are welcome to take the source code and modify it. However, to make this available over the Internet, one needs to purchase Filemkaker Pro which allows 5 concurrent users via instant web publishing; making the program available over the Internet to any 5 people at the same time. This is probably sufficient for the kind of use it would get in a typical stake of the church. If one needs access by more concurrent users (at the same time) then a more sophisticated version of Filemaker can be purchases (but probably not needed).
Maintaining keys is a security and a maintenance issue for most units of the church. This program will facilitate keeping track and maintaining records on key-holders and the status of keys
If anyone wants the program file below is a link to download the Filemaker file It is best to be familiar with Filemaker in order to use.
