This program is designed to be used in conjunction with the MLS database system. Member information from MLS can be imported into this program. Common listings can be created and specialized information entered. One can search on any field. Digital photos can be imported and linked to individual records. The custom fields were specifically designed for a Young Single Adult ward but most would be useful for family wards as well.
One has to realize that the information in the database is only as good as the time put into maintaining it. This system is benefited by an active membership clerk who keeps MLS current. Periodically it is useful to export from MLS and import the updated information into the system. Importing only overwrites information that has changed while keeping any comments and photos intact. In a student ward this is a fairly frequent activity (every 3 or 4 weeks).
Having a ward photographer who is responsible for taking pictures of new members (digital camera) is a great way to keep up with the photos. Those images can be imported into the database. Personal aside: when new members arrive in the ward the bishopric tries to meet with them right after sacrament meeting - they fill out a demographic questionnaire and have their photo taken.
Ward Version: This program is designed for Bishops but could be used by Bishopric counselors. It could also be used by Elders and Relief Society presidencies.Leaders using this program can make notes on individual members, access individual membership information, and create common listings.
Stake Version: This program is designed for Stake presidencies. Leaders using this program can make notes on individual members, access individual membership information, and create common listings
As a former Bishop, I had this database installed on my laptop computer and when I took it to church, it resided in my office, off to the side of my desk. This provided me with summaries of important interviews, photos, and vital statistics, all right in front of me and easily searchable.
